A recent post by Anime Feminist -- a publication focused around topics such as feminism and minority representation in the anime and Japanese pop culture sphere -- recently posted an article titled "Crunchyroll fails to meet industry standards for Closed Captioning (CC)." The piece highlights several concerns about Crunchyroll, North America's biggest anime-oriented streaming service. The author argues that most of the streaming platform's English dubs lack closed captioning (despite the majority of Funimation's titles having them prior to its merger with Crunchyroll), before then revealing the concerning testimony of a person purporting to be a former longtime Crunchyroll staffer.
