I'm old enough to remember a time when you couldn't skip the opening credits of a show so they needed to be engaging. That's not necessary anymore since most shows let you skip the intro which is why it's appreciated when a show goes the extra mile and hits you with an absolute banger even though no longer has to. X-Men '97 is the best example of that in recent history, and now you can listen to its iconic theme as much as you want via an official OST spread across two beautifully designed vinyl discs.
