Tears Of The Kingdom: Where Does The Game Fit Into The Zelda Timeline?

The Legend of Zelda's timeline may be difficult to make sense of in many respects, but that doesn't make it pointless to try. There are a number of games in the series that are direct sequels and prequels to previous titles, making the Zelda timeline imperative in understanding how some of the most seemingly unrelated games interconnect. The latest game in the series, Tears of the Kingdom, takes on a unique position in that its story is technically both a sequel and a prequel to 2017's Breath of the Wild.
