Immersive Sims Are Waiting For Their Baldur's Gate 3 Moment
The ill-fated genre deserves a chance at mainstream success.
The closure of Arkane Austin has me thinking about immersive sims a lot. Responsible for Prey and Dishonored, two of the greatest games the genre has ever seen, the studio was keen to revisit its roots with another sequel to the latter before its doors were unceremoniously shuttered. It was never meant to be, and I cant help but question the future of the immersive sims and whether we even exist in a landscape that can support them anymore.
