One of the lesser-known but more important pieces of the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII is the book Final Fantasy VII: On the Way to a Smile.
With Final Fantasy VII Rebirth finally out, fans everywhere are excited to see exactly how the story will continue to diverge from the 1997 classic. Many fans of the original found themselves disappointed once they realized that the new trilogy would be an alternate continuity, though. Having hoped to see their favorite characters with overhauled graphics in a story that, while faithful, would be more of an “expansion” than an “alternative” to the PlayStation original, the diversion from the original timeline has been divisive.
